RULES
- Use all your creative resources
If you can write a poem or rap, compose a song or paint a picture to explain your point do so. Just ensure that you have permission to use any creative material (e.g. songs/poetry/images etc) created by others that you use in your film.
- This is your chance to engage us about what fires you.
If you want to qualify your point by name-checking a party or group that you are part of then do so, but films clearly advertising one political party will be given the thumbs down.
- Do a group of you all share the same issue?
Why don't you all gather together and submit a group film. You still only get a minute between you but you can have 2,3,4 or more times the impact with more people on screen.
- Does a particular place or image sum up the situation?
If you have the technology step outside your house and film in your workplace, on the beach, in the park or wherever you can!
- Are there any children involved? By all means get your children and young friends to make their voices heard too, but please remember that we can't accept any video that features under-18s unless it is accompanied by a properly filled out consent form, which you can find here.
- Films that are too short or too long.
1min is tricky to stick to, but we won't accept films shorter than 45secs or longer than 1min 15secs. You may have a 6hour epic just waiting to be screened but this isn't the space to showcase it. We're looking for clips that are short, concise, creative and clear.
- No videos that incite hatred, include hate speech, defamatory or discriminatory speech or videos depicting unlawful acts or violence.
By all means, be critical, get passionate, say what you feel but please be respectful.
- No swearing or obscene gestures
We know it's obvious and you wouldn't dream of it, but we just had to say it.
Using your video
- We make no claims on your copyright – it's all yours.
- But by submitting your film you agree to let us use it to promote and publicise this campaign and to promote our work in the future.
- In addition to putting it on the campaign website, we may embed it on our Facebook page, upload it to our YouTube Channel , tweet about it or blog about it, and we'll be encouraging other to do so too.
- We'll also want to let Downing Street know what people are getting passionate about.
