Children takeover the Joint Public Issues Team
23 November 2007

Friday 23 November was 11 million takeover day. Across the country children have been given the opportunity to come into businesses and other organisations to make suggestions as to how organisations should be run. Participating organisations gain fresh insights and demonstrate that they are prepared to take children seriously.

The Joint Public Issues team were visited for the day by two groups of children from St Mary's Bryanston Square Primary School.

After explaining what we do we invited the children to tell us what most concerned them and therefore what we should campaign for. Each group decided on a topic and produced a podcast, a webpage and wrote a letter to a government minister. The topics selected were 'gun crime' and 'pollution'.
